Live Foods List

what are a list of foods that have never been alive?
For Example, fish wouldn’t apply to this list because it lived once. Neither would a salad, because it was once a living plant. Please Help!!
Well, that leaves out all animal, plant, and fungi foods. The only other thing I can think of is some type of spice but the only one I know of that’s not plant based is salt. But since salt is a mineral used to add flavor and preserve, I don’t know if it’s considered a food on its own.
Really, a very interesting question.
Edit: What about eggs? The eggs we buy and eat have never been fertilized. If they’ve never been fertilized, the embryos are never alive and cannot develop. Perhaps this may be considered. Check out this link http://www.angelfire.com/oh/ZebraDirectory/faq.html. it seems to confirm that unfertilized eggs have never had life.

The Bucket List $8.81 Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman star as two terminally ill cancer patients who decide to break out of the hospital and live their last days to the fullest in director Rob Reiner’s seriocomic road movie. Edward Cole (Nicholson) is a corporate billionaire who is currently sharing a hospital room with blue-collar mechanic Carter Chambers (Freeman). Though initially the pair seems to have nothing in common, conversation gradually reveals that both men have a long list of goals they wish to accomplish before they kick the bucket, and an unrealized desire to discover what kind of men they really are. But one can’t accomplish such lofty objectives from the confines of a hospital bed, so now, in order to live their lives to the absolute fullest, Edward and Carter will have to make a break for it. With a checklist that includes playing the poker tables in Monte Carlo, consuming copious amounts of caviar, racing the fastest machines on four wheels, and much more, these two terminally ill men will do their best to fit a lifetime of experience into their last remaining days while forging an unlikely, but truly remarkable, friendship. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi |

Cooking Without Milk $16.95 Cooking Without Milk is a straightforward, commonsense cookbook for the 50 million people in America who have milk or lactose intolerances or allergies. Unlike most of the current milk-free cookbooks that are free of lactose but not necessarily of milk, Cooking Without Milk is completely milk-free, with more than 550 recipes and variations of the foods people eat regularly with ingredients found in most grocery stores today. Many current milk-free cookbooks assume that lactose is the only problem ingredient in milk, require ingredients that are hard to find, and presume that cooks are mainly interested in making gourmet, time-consuming dishes. Cooking Without Milk, however, assumes that most people who cook milk-free don’t want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen. Cooking is not their only pastime.Cooking Without Milk includes a wide range of recipes — main dishes, vegetables, soups, sandwiches, egg dishes, breads, deserts, beverages, and sauces, gravies, and glazes. Also included are guides to the role of milk and milk products in diet, high-lactose foods to avoid, a guide to calcium and calcium-rich foods, and other useful information for those who cannot consume milk. The author also suggests ways in which to determine one’s level of milk intolerance, how to live comfortably while avoiding milk, eating in restaurants, accepting invitations that involve meals, milk products in medications, knowing how to find hidden milk in the ingredients of everyday foods, what to be careful about when buying from an in-store deli, and a list of Web sites for those who want to research milk intolerance for themselves. |

God’s Diet: A Short & Simple Way to Eat Naturally, Lose Weight, and Live a Healthier Life $9.99 Dorothy Gault-McNemee is a medical doctor who had tried every diet she could find to control the weight gains that had plagued her throughout her life. As the founding physician of a busy health clinic, she also saw that overweight patients who were suffering from a variety of diseases were far worse off than those who had their weight under control. As a result, Dr. Gault-McNemee began to examine what we eat and what our slimmer, healthier ancient forebears ate. They didn’t have processed foods and access to sugar; they weren’t consuming alcohol and foods that had been mixed with artificial ingredients they couldn’t pronounce. They were eating what God put on this earth: meat, fish, fruit, vegetables, grains, and nuts. And thus was God’s Diet born.In other words, if you can’t pick it, pluck it, pull it from the earth, or scale it, don’t eat it. If you pick up a can or a package of food that includes even one ingredient that you can’t identify, don’t eat it. Dr. Gault-McNemee also cautions that far too many foods contain sugar as an additive, from cereal to bread to canned vegetables.Prepare foods simply and avoid sugar, but while you’re at it, have a steak and a baked potato with butter and sour cream. In God’s Diet, Dr. Gault-McNemee has compiled numerous case studies from her own practice; inspiring advice from people like herself, whose lives have been changed for the better; information on vitamins, minerals, and cholesterol; and menu-planning advice and delicious recipes. The doctor has also prepared three lists of foods: those which you can eat all you reasonably want, those you should avoid, and a "swing list" offoods that you may enjoy occasionally and with limitations. God’s Diet enables you to lose weight simply and naturally without having to remember any complex diet regimen. By incorporating simple habits into our lives — paying attention to food labels, drinking eight to ten |

Poland and Slovakia: Tatra Mountains $61.15 The aim of this series is to lure visitors away from the tourist centers and into the countryside. Books cover car tours and picnic suggestions, but walks – from short strolls to long hikes – are the key feature. The authors know their chosen landscapes intimately; many live in the area, others visit annually. They have written these books because they see the beauty and interest in these regions and want to share, not because they are paid to go to this season’s hot destination and write a book. See page 18 for our full list of Sunflower Guides. You’ll read about dozens of unforgettable walks for all ages and abilities, with highly detailed walking maps in full color. The most rewarding driving tours of the region are also profiled. Large color fold-out maps and color photos show what you will see on every walk and tour. For planning purposes, timetables for buses, trains and ferries are provided. Information on the local foods, customs, wildlife and historic sites rounds out the coverage. A free update service on the Web, www.sunflowerbooks.co.uk, will keep you abreast of all changes. |

The 20-Day Rejuvenation Diet Program: With the Revolutionary Phytonutrient Diet $3.17 In The 20-Day Rejuvenation Diet Program, the authors write of a patient who describes herself as a member of the walking wounded ; while appearing outwardly healthy, she complained of constant fatigue, recurring digestive problems (citing a particular sensitivity to alcohol), increasing susceptibility to colds and flu bugs and difficulty in concentrating. For many, these persistent problems sound all too familiar. Often dismissed as an inevitable part of the aging process, or even psychosomatic in origin, these symptoms cause thousands on individuals to live a less-than-fulfilling life while conventional medical practitioners provide them with little or no assistance. In The 20-Day Rejuvenation Diet Program the authors offer a consumer version of this medical program, an easy-to-follow holistic prescription for restored health and rejuvenated life. Identifying toxic substances in the body and the environment as the cause of most chronic ills, they outline a diet program that uses specific foods to counteract the metabolic poisons and simultaneously provides the correct level and balance of nutrients needed by the body. Foods high in carotene and vitamin C are central to the 20-day rejuvenation regime. They supply a shopping list and daily menus (complete with recipes) for readers to follow. They also suggest a regular exercise routine, as physical activity also helps shed the toxins. Walking at least 100 minutes per week is essential to the plan’s success. |
